02 Wireless box II firmware

Im currently using the router supplied by 02 as my Netgear one died but i have to keep rebooting it and it disconnects me from online gaming.

I have managed to update the firmware from 7.4.20.3 to 7.4.20.4 but cant see anywhere what the latest version is. Any know what it is and where i can download it?

model: TG585v7
firmware: 7.4.20.4

I have 7.4.20.5 currently, did no firmware updates eitha so o2 must have pushed it to my router.
 
I had mine delivered a few weeks ago. Same version you are running beer, they push the updates to them over the line. Mine also behaves exactly like yours does too, it went back in the box after 10 minutes and I took my old x86 router/wag354g modem combo out again.

It really is the worst bit of networking kit I've ever come across.
 
Mine disconnects every 3/4 days on 7.4.20.4.

I've got a Vigor 2800 but it only syncs at 6mbps, o2 one syncs at 14 so i'm putting up with the disconnections.
 
Ive tried using the new 02 router but its just so rubbish. I cant play several games via steam as i constantly get disconnected. Apparently its a well known issue. Surfing the web becomes a chore. Lucky my old Netgear has started working again.
 
I'm having similar issues with my o2 router.

Any advice on a replacement? I wanted to go down the DD-WRT route but after a bit of research that seems like more hassle than its worth.
 
if you have an old router
you should be able to request a new one for free aslong as you agree to send out the old one which they will provide you a free jiffy bag to do so with

My Netgear stopped working, later found out it was something to do with old 02 dns servers they removed. I used the Wireless box they originally gave me but it was rubbish so i tried to flash the firmware which killed it. Whilst 02 sent me out a new Wireless box II i got the Netgear working again. I used this until the Netgear started to play up again. I used the Wireless box as a quick fix although that was so bad that i just went back to the Netgear again. It seems like the Netgear router just needs a rest and then it works fine again :)
 
I had one of these but got rid of it finally a few weeks ago, the constant rebooting and disconnects were driving me mad! Terrible bit of kit, just bin it and buy another netgear, should be able to pick up an old Sky one on the web pretty cheaply and flash it with DGTeam firmware.
 
I found this fix (link to fix at bottom of thread), Stops disconnections from steam games. I always used to get into a game, then get disconnected 20 seconds later.
