Opininions on this phone? I am goin to be paid a fair bit thursday and I wanna get a phone like this, this model comes with Co Pilot Live too, I do have a TomTom, but I really like the look of this phone.. does anyone have one?

Tarrifs wise im thinking of going for the Online 40 tarrif as I send more texts than calls...

Oppinions?

I had one and sold it. Not having a keypad for texting is a right pain.

Can't knock the phone. WM5 is good and I found the software quick and easy (though I was only using it a few days). Built in GPS is a really nice touch, not that I got to take advantage of it.

But I just couldn't hack the lack of a keypad. Just my opinion!

I've had mine for a week now and really like it. :D

Was skeptical about lack of keypad but now used to it. You get used to working with the new things and adapt and tweak them and learn the shortcuts etc. I've got it skinned etc with Wisbar addons and it's got tomtom 6 on it. I installed a 2gig card.

Its a great phone! I've had mine for a couple of months now and it really is the (almost) perfect phone. Only niggle is the lack of keypad but i installed an onscreen keypad instead which is almost as good. Txting can be a bit annoying if you do it a lot, so think carefully about that function if your a heavy texter, maybe think about the p990.

It runs skype well over wifi which is what I was looking for. Its great for GPS gets a fast lock and holds it well. I never used the co-pilot, just put tomtom on it. Video playback is perfect once you figure out which settings to use, and the screen is nice and clear.

Call quality is good too (funny how this always seems like a side note with phones these days).

I had an MDA Compact in 2005, which had the same type of interface, but touch-screen texting was a nightmare.

Since I got an XDA Mini S with a full qwerty keyboard, I can't imagine owning a pda/smartphone without one :D

I dont mind not havin the in built Keypad, but I think with the Sat Nav package it will be cool.. does it come with a car Mount / Charger with it? or do you have to buy that seperate?

So I take it you could install a touch screen QWERTY Keypad?

It comes with one as standard. But you can also install a standard phone keypad with predictive txting. The keys are large enough to use your fingers with and txt normally. Works well if you dont mind cleaning the screen every few days!

I think it does if you get the package from the o2 shop. When I got the phone they only included the satnav package if you spend £40+ per month but that may have changed now.

just ordered one myself. got a cracking deal. with skype how does it work? so you use skype on the orbit to make free/cheap calls over the wifi hooking into the router/broadband? (sorry to sound like noob but I've never used it).

Yep thats all you need to do. There's a special low processor version of skype mobile on the skype website. Its really easy to install.

It will only work over wifi or 3g (so wifi only with this phone!) but mine worked straight off with no problems! Now loads of free calls for me! Perfect for when you go abroad too.

It has an on screen keyboard, t9 phonepad, handwriting recognition as well and you can install voice command software.

I don't think mine came with an onscreen t9, i had to download one for it. But it was really easy to do.

If your asking whats the point in having a pda without a keyboard, my answer is;

A pda isn't meant for writing long paragraphs of text. I've never had to use a keyboard, voice recognition and handwriting recognition work fine for me.

Not with one hand though and I think it would be hard to srgue that a fully qwerty k/b wasnt usefull.

We've got a few of these at work. They're not bad. I prefer my personal XDA Exec *with Windows Mobile 6 ;)* though.

I'm getting a HTC Athena for work instead, as it's better for our mobile software. Plus it'll be a damn good satnav system. :D

The O2 XDA Flame looks to be a good replacement to my Exec though.
