my aircon just stopped being cold / working.
light on button illuminates, but nothing. no change in revs when on.
-could it be a fuse, if so anyone know which?

manual not much help. everything else seems to work...

I've also heard that if the pressure in the system drops the compressor won't engage either, so it could be that. I've got the same problem right now and need to take it to the garage to get fixed (under warranty)

It's probably worth getting Haynes manual for a tenner someplace. First off it'll give you info about which fuse is which and where to find them, also it'll give you info on things like the air con, what commonly goes wrong and how to diagnose and fix it. If you have the time and inclination to look into repairing it yourself (possibly not something involved with the air con, the fluid is pretty toxic IIRC), it'll tell you how and you'll save a shed load on the repair cost because of no labour costs, and you can get the parts cheaper than at your local garage. Unless you botch it and have to get it done properly anyway :p

Like mentioned above could be due to low pressure. When I got my CTR I had exactly the same problems, I found the pressure switch and bypassed it and the compressor engaged so I knew it wasn't a problem with that. A quick refill of the system off a mate and its now working as it should.

Yeah taken it to a dealer - they'll look at it tomorrow, means i have to get stupid train to work though.

I couldn't actually find a haynes manual for 2005 onwards model of focus, though I did look. However, quick google seemed to imply that there's nothing really about A/C in manuals (but i'm not sure if it was for that model or not).

Hopefully it'll be something simple and fixed tomorrow.

Well it's still @ ford.
Apparently it's something to do with the wiring? All the relays check out and their diagnostics pc or whatever the hell they plug into it says everything's fine. It's blatantly not.

Something about the actual compressor or whatever being switched on by the engine management module/ECU? I dunno, seemed strange to me - they were going to phone ford today and try to find out what else to check. I want it fixed. It's hot.

If it does turn out to be some kind of wiring thing - is it likely they'll have parts available for it, or am I going to be waiting months?

Well they finally fixed it and I got it back yesterday. Hooray. Turned out to be a dodgy/broken connection in a junction box somewhere.

Anyway, it's obviously had something strange done to it - I seem to have another menu that I've never seen before on the MFD. Lets me configure setup - maybe I had it before, I just never looked for/at it properly.
When I got the car back and sat in it I noticed all the units were in metric - so KM instead of Miles. Fine, I changed it back to imperial so win.

However, the outside temperature display used to be in degrees C. Now it's in F. I can't seem to get a combination of celsius and miles - is there a way I can do this, or is it a plug in tool thing at the dealer job?

I'm not THAT bothered about it, I could learn what degs farenheit is in celsius I suppose. Just wondering if it's possible.

I've also heard that if the pressure in the system drops the compressor won't engage either, so it could be that. I've got the same problem right now and need to take it to the garage to get fixed (under warranty)

Update - the cooling/radiator part of the AC is leaking like mad and needs to be replaced. Ive got extra warranty with llyods, but they haven't called the garage back since they called at 10am, so a little worrying. Having read the scarily extensive exemptions, it definitely isn't on the list, but i`m also going to try claiming the regas with dye test from the insurers aswell given it was a parts failure. I`ll let you know how i get on......
