Okay I've managed to get the MSI 0db feature working on my GTX 970 Gigabyte. I'll try to be brief explaining.

Basically my 970 has pretty bad coil whine on my pc and my mate had just built a new pc so I thought I'd try my card in his machine to see if there was any difference.

There was in fact a small difference however the card still makes an annoying buzzing which is not really shown in the video because of the phones mic.

My friend has the MSI 970 and when we straight swapped my gigabyte for his, everything was the same however my card inherited the 0db feature somehow.

The pc was running CS: GO and to show it working we changed the fps cap from say 60 to 150 to make the temp change which activates the fans or stops them.

I'm not sure if anyone can look into this more and figure out a solution as I've seen a lot of gigabyte owners are desperate for this. This was an accidental discovery and hope a stepping stone for 0db with all cards.

Still shot from video for those who don't want to watch the video, YES the fans are not moving whilst the card is on and no they're not glued :)

I wonder if the GPUs have slightly different drivers or something, not likely though. I'm still confused as to what is allowing this as there is no special MSI software to make the 0db fan feature happen.

@ Stas823 it actually worked as it should and when the temp hit around 60c I think, the fans kicked in.

The only thing I can think of would be if your mate had MSI AB installed, copy his 'Profiles' folder into your AB directory and overwrite/delete your Profile folder.

This, especially if the bios on the Gigabyte card is capable of dropping to 0%.
