My computer frozen and when I restarted none of my applications will launch and I get an error 0xc00000e5.

My windows was only recently re-installed and all updated via Windows Update.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

At first it was giving me an error about a missing win32u.dll file but I downloaded it and put it in the SYSWOW64 folder.

Couldn't find any answers.. tried sfc scan now.. tried dsim restore health... safe mode.. clean boot but nothing worked so I just reinstalled windows..

So far no problems but I am making restore points incase it was a windows update error.

Hmmm I never heard of that error, I googled it and found 0xc00000e5 error was caused by anti-virus software from Avast, Trend Micro, Comodo, Kaspersky and AVG.

Did you installed anti-malware, anti-virus or internet security software after reinstalled Windows 10? If you did then you will need to disable anti-malware and anti-virus and see if you able to launch applications fine then you also will need to run anti-malware and anti-virus to download and install latest updates and patches, restart PC and see if you still able to launch applications after anti-virus update. If you still getting 0xc00000e5 error then you will need to uninstall anti-virus software and install reliable anti-virus software that are approved for Windows 10.

I use Norton Security and suggest you to try Norton Security 30 day trial software to see if it will work on your PC without 0xc00000e5 error.

I did have Avast installed but even running the computer in Clean Boot without anything else running gave the same error when I tried to open anything up.

It was already in System32 but I put into SYSWOW64 also.

After re-install not had the error since so cross fingers it was just a one off from a bad crash during overclocking.
