the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002) this the error when i try to start win XP .... win XP is on a separate drive to vista i can still log in to vista because i let "cf disk or something similar" run and delete all wrong entries but on XP i stopped the proses half way thought because i wrongly fought i had a virus deleting all my data Der!!!

anyway i know this has been covered here at OC and there is plenty of advise if u google it but all the advice i found so far assumes u can still log in either normally or in safe mode i cant do any in safe mode its warns could not load "CDrom" or "Diskdrive" with consecutive clicks of OK

i don't have a XP disk just a recover disk that wont let me keep my files alt-ho i can run vista and see all my files i could copy them but would like to have XP run again if at all possible any ideas?

as always any help advise welcome

PS think this all came about because rebuilding system moved hard drives about

Sounds pretty hosed mate, hard to tell what has actually gone wrong from your post.

Also, your signature is too big

what is it i haven't told u then ?, what would help u understand more what my problem is, i will try explain again

ill do signature again its been down sized once already ........ don't see what all the fuss is about with signatures?

as always any help advise welcome Webb

Update if i log in, just in safe mode "no network or command prompt" i get a screen asking what user account i want to sign in, in either me IE Webb or administrator (but Webb is the administrator?)

anyway none of them do anything, mouse pointer becomes erratic and returns to last page?
