I've just dropped a Q6700 into a P5K mobo running with G-SKILL F2-6400 ram i used to have a E6550 that would hit only 2.8 ghz stable ,could someone tell me the bios settings to try and get the Q6700 upto 3 ghz with 1:1 FSB:RAM , i can't see why i'm hitting this 2.8 threshold so it's got to be something i'm doing. thanks in advance

You'll need to set the FSB to 300 (300 x 10 multiplier). Set the RAM to 200/400/800 (whichever is listed in the BIOS) which means it will run 1:1 with the FSB.

No doubt you will have to put the voltage up a notch over stock with it being quad.. 1.4v maybe?
