1/2 Inch Hose same as 10mm Hose?

Is 10mm hose referred to as 1/2 inch, or is half inch hose actually 12.5mm?

1/2" is 12.7mm 10mm hose is nearly the same as 3/8" though

I understand how it's very easy to get muddled with tube diameters. Od - ID, mms - inches :confused:

agreed it can be a bit confusing, and making sure you get the correct barbs, when they are all different thread sizes.

I ordered some 1/4"BSPT - 1/2" Barb and got 1/2"BSPT - 1/4" Barb :eek:

Depends on the fitting interface used to determine how it's labeled.

Any brand using barb fittings will quote the ID of the tubing, brands using external fittings will quote the OD.

ie 1/2" Waterchill tubing is actually 10mm ID & 1/2" OD as it uses external push-fittings.

Am I right in thinking that theres no point in getting converters and using wider tubing because the in's and outlets will still be the same size?
