Hi :),

More of a compatibility check then anything else as haven't built a computer for 7+ years.

Having seen the trailer for the new Battlefield 1 thought it was time to build myself a new rig.

A friend is letting me have his old 19" Asus 1920x1080 monitor/mouse/keyboard/speakers so its just the tower I'm after.

Cheers guys, some food for thought there... will be ordering Tue :)

Just changed

£324.98 Z170-Gaming K3 - Intel Core i5 6600K Bundle **£10 Saving**

to

£324.98 Z170X-Gaming 3 - Intel Core i5 6600K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£30 Saving**

Can't see any major differences between the boards but as the Gaming 3 is normally more thought it best to swap.

No I wont be keeping the monitor for long, decided on the 650 PSU as I intend to overclock and feel its more future proof then 550.

Do you think some faster ram would make any real life difference while gaming?

Thanks
Mark

Hi,

The monitor will only last a month or two till I replace it with a decent gaming screen.

Was reviewing my list and noticed the specs of supported ram on the gaming 3 motherboard doesn't match the 3000mhz ddr4 I chosen??? Should I revert back to the K3 gaming board?

4 x DDR4 DIMM sockets supporting up to 64 GB of system memory
Dual channel memory architecture
Support for DDR4 2133 MHz memory modules
Support for ECC UDIMM 1Rx8/2Rx8 memory modules (operate in non-ECC mode)
Support for non-ECC UDIMM 1Rx8/2Rx8/1Rx16 memory modules
Support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules

Thanks
Mark

How much space does Windows 10 take? I have read some people keep one SSD just for Windows and programs, another for games and then a standard HDD for music/movies/downloads ect is this normal these days? What kinda setup you got?

Thanks again for your advise, gave me peace of mind ordering.

Mark
