Hi all!

I'm looking to upgrade my machine as it is becoming outdated, it'll primarily be used for gaming.

I already have hard drives, optical drives and a sound card, so I'm just looking for a motherboard, cpu, ram, graphics card, psu and a case.

My budget is £1,500 (give or take £200).

I don't really know anything about overclocking, so I was considering getting a pre-oc'd bundle, but I'd like to know if it's worth doing?

Here's what I've been looking at getting so far based on reviews, however, if there are better options, given the budget, please let me know :)

"Rock Creek Gold Rush" Intel i7 4770K @ 4.4GHz Overclocked Haswell Gaming PC Bundle (16gb RAM) - £669.94 inc VAT
EVGA GeForce GTX 780Ti Superclock 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £599.99 inc VAT

I don't actually know which PSU to choose (how much power do I need?), the only consideration is that I may purchase another 780 Ti at some point. My budget for a PSU is around £100.

I haven't decided on a case yet. There are too many to choose from! Budget is between £50-£100.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Just buy a single GPU, 780ti if that floats your boat, rest of the build above is golden, the cash saved will bring you under budget plus allow you to probably get a 4770k instead of the i5.

My choice would be as below, but I would probably just go for a GTX 780 Classy especially if you plan to SLI at some point

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gainward GeForce GTX 780Ti 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £559.99
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £269.99
1 x Corsair Obsidian 750D Full Tower Case - Black (CC-9011035-WW) £160.00
1 x Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE250BW) £149.99
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £139.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-SLI Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £97.99
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (TXD38G2400HC10QDC01) £71.99

Thanks for the speedy replies :D

So you'd suggest I buy the components separately, rather than opt for the overclocked bundle? I really know nothing about overclocking, I'd be scared of damaging something.

As for the graphics card, I may purchase a second 780 Ti in a couple of months (instead of getting 2 780's now)

I was looking at 16GB RAM (with the bundle), how much of a difference will the jump from 8 -> 16 make in terms of gaming (fps etc?)

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it

You would only need 8gb for gaming. I was not even meaning two 780's now just if you plan SLI in the near future as the performance of dual 780's will be more than sufficient for a considerable time. Also as far as I have read 4770k does not have the power to fully utilise SLI 780ti's. :p

Plenty of people in the overclocking section will help you overclock your rig safely, all you need to remember is to take your time, dont rush, and follow the plethora of guides and advice available, its really quite fun and addictive.

It's something I'd love to be able to do, I'm just worried I damage the components. I bought a bundle from here a couple of years back (1055T OC'd to 3.8ghz), and that wasn't stable (used to blue screen after about 20 minutes), so I removed the overclock completely. Might be a good idea to practice on that first.

I'm going to go with the 4770k, GTX 780 Ti, SuperFlower 1000w PSU, I just need to figure out which case to get now
