Are these temps right?

Auto Fan

Idle Temps:

GPU1 39c
GPU2 61c

It never use to get that hot, there use to be 6 or 7 degrees difference but never this much.

Should I be worried??

Move them round and see if the temp moves GPU. If not i would say its air flow in the case.

Na first take the side off,try the easy things first.

Make sure the top GPU hasn't slipped down and blocked the fan intake. I had this problem with my cards. You should be able to get a ~5mm gap between the intake of the top card back of the second card.

Looks like the top one had moved a bit, so I held it back up and screwed it back in place, now the temps are:

Auto Fan
Idle Temps

GPU1 58c
GPU2 61c

Amazing how a tiny bit of movement makes a difference!

Even my 4870X2 doesn't get that hot at idle  Having said that, autofan is useless so I map my fan speeds out myself on Afterburner. Have my gpus idle at 38/43 with the fan at around 38%.

id move it back to where it was as GPU 1 has now gained 19c :o

What are you using to monitor the temps? GPU-Z sometimes causes the clock speeds to jump around causing higher temps.
Additionally having more than 1 monitor increases the idle speed and thus the temps.
Also overclocking with catalyst 10.4 or later results in higher idle clocks.

Sorry if you already know about this but its all i can think of atm.

Is one of the cards is sitting at 400mhz and the other at 157mhz....the new ati drivers seems to be a little hit and miss even on clean format. Also if you have 2 monitors hooked it will ramp up the 2d clocks

can you not put a fan on you side panel to blow colder air onto the cards? temps do seem a little high my gtx 480 idles at 50c at this moment in it. fan set to auto

yes mate is it reduced air flow that cause this. take the bottom card out for 1 night and you will normal temps. I moved to rampage 3 for better cooling and o/c and it much better however was expensive
