1.7v Corsair ddr3 XMS and Nehalem

Is 1.7V on the memory OK for Nehalem boards? I am using the ASUS Rampage II Ex.

Recommended is 1.65 so 1.7 should be ok..

Just tried it this morning and it works fine. Although it's running at 1066Mhz not the 1333Mhz that it should be. The CAS is lower at 1066Mhz.

Intel states in very clear wording DO NOT GO OVER 1.65v ON THE MEMORY as it can damage the CPU. This was printed on the sticker that you have to peel off to install the CPU.

I have no conclusive testing either way that it is safe or not safe but, we follow Intel's recommendation on this. I'd suggest 1.65v or less.
