i have a 1.8t which is now slower than my work van!
there seems to be no boost although my turbo still spins and you can hear it, also the car isnt throwing any smoke out! i took it to the garage and they plugged it in and it threw up zero errors, so they replaced the boost pressure sensor, the car is still no better, it really has no power whatsoever. i was thinkin about goin and getting a new maf for it but i really cant afford another component that wont solve the problem, has anyone any suggestions or experienced this themselves?

it is a quattro so lookin at em to check is a pain in the ****!
the garage said they checked and couldnt see any splits.

and im sorry i dont know what a troll is!

Try unplugging the MAF and go for a short drive. If the car runs okay the fault lies with a sensor somewhere if not it's probably something physical like a split pipe.

What does it being Quattro have to do with checking pipes

God knows, given that even the 2wd models have the engine mounted in the same way

Anyway, regardless, you need to get hold of someone with VAG-COM and see if it throws up any error codes whilst driving about. It would also be advantageous to log boost pressure at the same time.

My guess would either be a failed recirculation valve (the stock plastic ones tend to go, espescially if remapped), or a dodgy n75.

Yup, those Bosch units really are rubbish! Although, I do have two spare in my boot, just in case (but not likely) my 007 fails. 2 min job at the side of the road, mean no slow journey home for me! ;)

Oh and I have two because I had a spare before I got my 007, because I knew it would probably fail at some point.

On another note, since changing to the 007, the slight hesitation on slight acceleration has vanished. Another reason to ditch the Bosch unit.

Mine also split/started leaking, though I only had intermittent boost in 3rd gear. I'm pretty sure if it wasn't warranty i'd have been ripped off by Skoda. Did you source the things yourself? If so...great!

So if it's completely dead it could be that I suppose.

You can generally hear when the recirc valve has failed/is failing, you can hear air escaping whilst giving it beans within the high boost portion of the rev range.

I've also got a spare (only plastic) recirc valve in the car, on the offchance I have a problem with my 007p.
