1-Device IDE cable for SN45G

Hi,

I managed to damage the IDE cable that links the HDD to Mobo on the SN45G. I've been looking around for a replacement, and no-one seems to sell short 1-device IDE cables.

Do these things simply not exist any more? Should I Just buy a 2-device IDE cable and use that?

you could, if you can't find a single device cable is get a double connector cable and cut the ribon after the first IDE device -

Years ago when I worked in a small computer shop, i discovered you could carefully take the ide connector apart on a cable, and place it elsewhere on the cable - effectively making it as short as you needed.

But as I said, this was years ago, and it was the 40 wire ide cables, never had to try it with the 80 wire cables.
