Hi all,

I've just got 1 gb fibre from community broadband. Very happy with it.

My setup means it's not possible to run an ethernet cable so accept I'm going to lose a fair amount of speed.

I've just installed the below

devolo Magic 2–2400 Wi-Fi 6: Whole Home Kit

This is giving me 300 mb up and down (on my pc) on the powerline and has solved my WiFi issues through the house. Previously I couldn't get WiFi in every room.

Aware I'm losing a lot of performance I may need to just accept it. Excluding running an ethernet cable, are there better options. For example a more expensive WiFi 6 mesh?

Should say I'm actually on 3 gb broadband but they ran out of the equipment so will be upgrading to this in the next week or so. So setup needs to work for this.

Thanks all.

It wasn't a lot more for 3 gb. Assumed if i'm getting a fixed % of speed, then would be more at 3 gb. Some devices are benefiting from it, those closer to router are wired but my gaming PC isn't (powerline).

Yep - what's the best solution would i be better running a Wifi 6 mesh?

Hi all,

Got the 3gb installed. I'm going to be returning the Devolo, it works well enough but losing too much speed to my main PC.

I've going to run Cat cable over the roof to get directly to the PC. This is the centre of the house, the plan is to then hard wire a Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Pro Acces Point Wifi 6 for my wifi. Assume I will need a 10 gb switch to not lose speed on the PC (since I will only be running one cable from the router).

Firstly, will the above work and is there a better option?

Thanks

Sorry i need a switch, not router.

The issue I have is I can only run one cable (its over the roof) to the middle of the house, so will need the 10 gb port to run into the router to do both the access point and PC.

I had it installed last week.
