Hi

I built the following PC a month or so ago

CPU - 4790k
Mb - Gigabyte UD5HBk
16Gb Avexir Gold RAM
Crucial 550MX 512Gb SSD
Onboard Graphics

Issue 1

Occasionally, when I try and shut down the computer it restarts. I have to restart the computer by selecting restart, and then I can shut down

Issue 2
I came to the PC tonight and it had a black screen saying 'Insert Proper boot device', thinking the SSD had died, however when I restarted it worked and booted fine. Just frustrating as I lost my work I left.

Whilst these aren't major issues, I am just concerned it my get bigger. Anything I can look at or seems wrong?

Thanks for your help

Issue one I've had before turned out to be a registry issue;

Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Double Click on "PowerdownAfterShutdown"

Then,
Change it to "0" if it is "1" OR
Change it to "1" if it is "0".

If it doesn't fix it change it back.

(Standard disclaimer I take no responsibility if you Bork the registry)

Issue two I have no idea sorry.

Have had the 2nd error when bios settings get corrupted. If it returns to original bios sometimes it sets inputs from ahci to ide. My ssd then didn't get recognised and sameish message

Sometimes happens with undtable over clock

Fingers crossed that was it then :).

To this day I don't actually know what caused it as on a clean build the registry is set to 0 iirc. No idea why it changes.
