have a few days to choose flext tarrif - just really not sure about the phone... i got the W800 now - like it but didnt really wanna get another.... was gonna go nokia 8800 - but is £199 or £229 for my tarrif.... and if I dont like the battery (!) gulp killer.... (im not interested in camera quality really .. few drunken snaps are cool :) ....

am I able to :

get say the W800 with flext and sell it - use my W800 from Orange ... and then buy a newer sim free phone and then continue to use that with no problems .. was thinking maybe the W810 when that comes or something coming shortly ?..... does this cause problem with Tmobile ?? Ill have to leave off the insurance then...

Id wait but 25% offer seems good... OR will they do it `just` one more month ??? hmmmm anybody know for sure it runs out march....

Also if this is good - what is good seperate insurance or ... would Tmobile insure my new Sim free phone ?

thanks again in advance.

The T-Mobile Discounts are until the end of April. After they they are bye bye. W810 is penciled in for April release by T-Mobile. Whether they actually make it out before the offer finishes is anybodies guess.

8800's are like gold dust. Even rarer on T-Mobile.

Your basic plan is sound, T-Mobile won't kick up a fuss about using SIM free phones on their network (unlike Orange!). So it should be okay. Just becareful to let any insurence companies involved, etc, etc know.

However if you gonna go for a W810, its not hugely different from the W800i TBH. Doesn't even have AD2P I think which is bummer.

Im looking to change my t-mobile contract and get myself a Vario, I have lots of choice and Im intersted in...

Web N Walk 200 with a free phone costing £28.50 per month.

or

Flext 30 with a £10 costing £22.50,
add £7.50 / month for unlimited data. total of £30 a month.

For an extra £1.50 I seem to get lots of free texts plus unlimited data. (Even though I have wireless connections at home and work)

Do t-mobile drop the prices if you ask nicely or haggle? Is it better to call up or go into the store?

Call them up and see what they say, you'll get a bette deal. But only if you spend £££. If you don't spend the money, don't expect them to try to hard to keep you.

If you really like that W&W deal, get it now, they're being overhauled for the 1st. Not sure if for the better or worse though.

Anyone know when the Vario II (HTC Hermes) will be released in the UK on T-Mobile?

My contracts up now with Orange and really want this phone.

Remember reading a May launch for T-Mobile Germany and was hoping for sometime in April for the UK (coincide with the 25% FlexT offer).

Vario 2 should be end of April and will probably be best on the NEW t-mobile tarrif called Flext 35 Web n Walk which is £42.50 a month and comes with everything Fext 35 does and the 40Mb allowance.

Andy

is that tarriff likely to have any kind of deal, similar to the '25% off line rental, for life" offer? £40+ is a bit outta my budget!

If its end of April then surely its better to get the FlexT 35 online with 25% discount and then add the unlimited data tariff for £7.50? looking at around £34 a month. Might not get the phone for free but saving would be worth it.

Thats providing the 25% discount is until end of April, the £7.50 unlimited data option is too and finally the Vario II actually showing up. :p

thanks for the info people.... just found out my girlfriends... friends... fiancee... works for Tmobile.... hes getting back to me tomorrow about the SE 810.. yep no big difference with them... but suppose better to get the newer phone....

post above ^^^ are we saying the 8800 wont be in stock if I enter it online ??? does it actually say whether it is available when filling out the form.. last week when I tried I got a webpage error.. and havent tried since... was leaving decision to the end ;)

Okay, the deal with the Vario II (HTC Hermes) is that its got a 300MHz Samsung S3C2442 processor instead of the 195MHz TI OMAP 850 in the Vario. 3G looks to be included, plus a 2mega pixel camera. Apart from that, and the fact that the Vario II is slightly larger, there isn't much difference.

Being that we are on an OcUK board, there is always the option of getting a 250MHz overclock out of the Vario. Aparently the increase in battery usage is negligable.

That Samsung 300MHz is the equivalent to a 400MHz Intel XScale CPU apparantly. No doubt you could squeeze more out of if if you wanted to.

What with the Wi Fi integrated, you might well be interested in using Skype VoIP. Part of the requirement is a 312MHz processor minimum.

Aye, you are right. There is no doubt that it will be faster, otherwise why would it be called Vario II :D

Anyway, it is possible to run skype on the Vario. ;)

yep just been told from the boyfriend at t-mobile - offer is on till end of April and the SE 810 will be there....

cool - will hang a little more then - might as well get that then :D
