Hi guys, sorry for the question, but i have a DS3 motherboard and looking to get RAM, at moment i can only afford around the £100 mark, so is it better to get
2x512 or 1x1gb chips?

I know the board supports dual channel so what do you guys recommend.

Cheers :)

2x 512mb unless u are looking to upgrade in the near future so that they will run in dual channel and be faster data speeds, than a single 1gb stick.

Cheers mate, thought that would be the answer, now the next question

Which is better

Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x512MB) (MY-112-CS)
or
GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX21GB6400UDC) (MY-057-GL)

both the same price, near enough any way, so out of the two which would you choose?

Geil have lower latency than the corsair (c4 rather than c5) so get the geil. Also the geil generally overclocks better than the corsair
