Hi I am thinking of upgrading to the 4070 ti from my 3070. The 3070 as 1 power cable with twin 8 pin connectors. Would this be safe to power the 4070 ti or do I need to fit another power cable and use a single 8 pin from both the cables.?. I keep reading different comments and it's a bit confusing... PSU is a 750 watt gold rated ....cheers

It's best practice to use two separate 8 pin cables but you could use one that splits into two. I've had problems using one cable before with older graphics cards so I'll always use two or more depending on the graphics card.

As said above, you're advised to do this and there's even been posters on this forum who have fixed stability issues by changing the cable config, so if the option exists it just makes sense, but a decent PSU should be fine with it either way (in theory).

Hi ..having decided to buy a 4070 ti I have been looking at different cards. Looks like the overclocked versions need. 3 8 pin connectors. Now would it be ok to use 3 8 pin connectors via 2 power cables or is this bad practice?. Cheers
