Hi, i really need some help with this.

Got a new motherboard a couple of days ago, so i done a fresh install of windows 8.1.
My pc is connected by lan cable.
All our phones are working fine on wifi.

Yesterday i could not access the internet, even though doing a ping test should i was connected to the net.
tried flush/dns etc....... loads of cmd orders but nothing fixed it.

My sons pc upsatirs (connected by lan cable) was running fine at the time.

This morning i decided to try again, he was on net already, as soon as i hit the power button, even before windows booted, his net just stopped, and yet my pc is able to connect now.

Tried new lan cable to my pc, checked all the wires to router, tried different sockets on the router, reset router etc....

Is there any way i can see whats hogging the bandwith or would my lan connection on the motherboard be playing up? (downloaded latest driver)

Tried a speed test, the speed is good, but the ping is very high

May be worth ensuring you aren't getting a duplicate IP. Odd response I appreciate but weird stuff arises from duplicate IPs

That ping is crazy high.

Do you use power line or wireless? What make is your modem and router?

Figured it out.
I plugged my sons laptop into the router using ethernet and everything was fine, so the problem had to be on my pc.
Bought a new network card and everything running fine now
