1 Series Road noise.

Its me back again with more car related questions.

My wifes 1 Series. To me it sounds very loud ( road noise ). Im not sure if its the cheap tyres that are on it or if a bearing is possibly on its way out on the front.

Whats peoples experiences with these cars? Do they sound loud on the road in general driving conditions?

If not do you maybe think a tyer upgrade be beneficial?

How do I tell if a bearing is going bad?

Which generation is it?

Im a novice mate. F20, 118D, 65 plate and lci version if any of that helps. Cheers

I’ve found the F20 reasonably loud on the motorway, especially with run flats. Do you know if you have run flats on the car?

These are the tyres that are currently on the car, Aptany 225/45z r17 94w

They were on it when we got it. They look pretty much brand new!! Not a brand ive heard of before mind so no idea if they are any good!!

Right next question..... CarPlay. Anyone had experience of it retrofitted into an older car? Currently the option is not available on the Mrs car. Ive had a quick google and it seems it can be done with a screen and wiring change to the headunit. Ive seen one from a brand called RoadTop. Again I dont have a clue here but the wife really liked it in her old company car so she really would like it again if at all pos

Do you have the widescreen display (pro nav) or the smaller, 4:3 type display (business/entry nav)?

Its the widescreen display I believe
