Gonna be doing some basic video editing with Premier (CS4) here at work but I'm sure my little office machine won't cope. As luck would have it, we just let somebody go and I'm getting their machine
Some of the files I'll be working with can be on the large size - up to 1GB sometimes. How will this spec handle it?
Core Duo 3GHz
8GB RAM
Radeon 4650 1GB
Windows 7 64bit Pro
Right, Excel.....which I hate! A person who used to work here setup a nice system where our engineers enter the project info into the spreadsheet and then it automatically creates a folder, makes a summary sheet, E-Mails it to our accounts manager, etc, etc. It works 95% of the time just great, but occasionally it randomly messes up the macro scripts - usually adds an extra digit into the auto dating part so the folders come out as 20011 instead of 2011
I go in, remove the extra digit which it's inserted into the macro, then all is fine for a while until it does it again. Any ideas?
The other problem is that we randomly get errors when it tries to generate the automatic stuff - it's done it on multiple machines with multiple variations of the error. Sometimes it gives a runtime error and doesn't do anything. Other times it will make the folder but not put anything in it. Other times it makes the folder, the subfolders, but then doesn't do the summary sheet. It's totally random and impossible to replicate - the same person on the same machine can try again later and it's fine. Driving me mad!
Thanks!
