10.9 Cat's out today?

what's the overscan bug?

I'm having a problem with my HD 4870

I'm playing a game and suddenly everything freezes. Like I'll have all these rectangles on my screen or everything turns green. I then have to manually reboot

For some, like me who are on HDMI the scaling options don't stick, every time you boot up or reboot you have to go into catalyst control centre to reset the scaling options. It's not a big deal really, but unbelievably naive of the driver teams to not be able to have sorted such a simple glitch in a hotfix days ago.

I have this, rolled back to 10.7. Never had any issues with nvidia, guess where my money is going next time :)

I believe Im still running 10.4 and have no issues - why does everyone think its a necessity to upgrade to the latest drivers. I come from the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" stable and this applies to all my system drivers, I swear the time ive saved by not fannying around changing drivers/rolling back etc more than makes up for the 3.2214 fps increase that I may get by upgrading my software.

When you're getting 122fps+ is that 3fps really necessary? I thnk not.

Yeah i never had the overscan bug in 10.7 or previous drivers, but battlefield bad company 2 crashed often with 10.7. I'm going back to 10.5 i think?. Amd are probaly focusing on getting working drivers for the 6xxx series of graphics cards.
