You can have an old version of ccc and new drivers. They both come as a seperate download on the official amd site as well.

well, yeah, that was my point. windows update won't update the software, just the driver...

i'm using downthemall and just put the referrer url as www.game.amd.com - worked a charm with that akamai link

Clicking enable overdrive doesn't increase idle clocks it seems with these, I guess maybe they reverted the change for single monitors?

Yep, they fixed it. Took them 5 months to realize the "feature" wasn't necessary

EDIT: my bad, they didn't fix anything. Overdrive wasn't enabled.

I believe Im still running 10.4 and have no issues - why does everyone think its a necessity to upgrade to the latest drivers. I come from the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" stable and this applies to all my system drivers, I swear the time ive saved by not fannying around changing drivers/rolling back etc more than makes up for the 3.2214 fps increase that I may get by upgrading my software.

When you're getting 122fps+ is that 3fps really necessary? I thnk not.

It depends. I went from 10.4a to 10.7a as it gave me a huge improvement in crossfire. And for everything they fix with a driver release, they often break stuff e.g. loading times in BBC2.

Nvm, it was but it's increasing idle clocks now.

The bad:

Eyefinity configuration while playing games/samples

Only positive update for me is the profiles, other than that i'm going back to 10.6 drivers?.
