Hi guys running dualcore Opty 175 with Scythe Ninja 1800RPM fan with 42*C core 0 and 32*C core 1 (coretemp) so upto 10*C difference

load temps are 55-58*C and upto 3*C difference in cores@load

1.35vcore

i have reseated hsf with AS5

i have seen a pic of IHS off dualcore and both cores are stuck together so contact with IHS should be the same.

any advise, should i be worried

edit: check pic, shots taken diffent times so temps change. some explain why there is 3 cpu temp and is everest confused?
pc2006 temps reading look odd

While i don't have a dual-core it would seem logical that in most apps that don't support dual-core the one processor has a different load and thus a higher temp than the other core.

More likely one of the cores doesn't have good contact with the IHS thus your temp difference. Not a lot you can do about it though unfortunatly.

My idle and load temps are about 8~10C different between cores!

good to hear some one else has high difference.

how long you been using cpu and any issues?

also some one explain why there is 3 cpu temps in everest and pcwizard

I had this on an X2-4400. 10-12 degree difference in idle core temp.

Removed the IHS and still had 6-8 degrees difference. Heatsink was lapped etc. I just put it down to sensor calibration error, although saying that the hot one always crapped out first when overclocking.

i had a amd 4400x2 aswell and idle temps was exactly the same but full load was 14c difference between the cores.

the IHS on amd's suck to be honest.

Intel for the win :)

One of my cores on my opty 180 reports upto 8c lower than my cpu temp at idle - never had any problems though.

There are THREE cpu temperatures avaliable and Everest lists them all.

First the CPU tempature, this is the diode temp and isn't very accurate.
The second two are the actual digital die temperatures on each core of the CPU. More accurate, but still not perfect.

CPU has been running at 2.5GHz since I got it about 4 months ago. CPU idle is about 32C and 41C load temps with Orthos are 51C and 59C.

Stable 100%

Similar experience with my x2 3800 and I've got a 5c difference with my Opty 170 at idle and it's about 10-12c under load.

Reading the above posts, i think I may have been lucky, as the difference between my 2 cores is 1c. Currently idling at 31c/32c
