Having gone and played 10-pin for the first time in ages, I remembered how much I enjoy this game. I think my technique is alright - i can regularly hit 8/9 pins down in one shot, but getting a strike is a bit erratic. 1 game I may get 1 but in another 4 or 5.

What is the best way to improve my technique, I know practice is the key but what small things could I do differently? How could I hold the ball differently to put spin on it, currently my shot is pretty much straight.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Its difficult (read: almost impossible) to teach that kind of thing without it being in person. Techniques are all individual, and its hard to demonstrate over the net.

Go to your local alley, they'll have people on hand that can help, especially if you fancy joining a league or something. I used to teach people how to bowl.

You're like your regular working club drinking. Capable of doing everything, knows it all and omnipotent.

Scary.
Yes he is, and I'll bloody well beat him at bowling one day soon (I think our last 3 matches have seen no more than 10 pins between us, but I've been on the wrong end every time :/ Our first match has been wiped from my memory ;)).
