Just checking my Gigabyte 870 and Gigabyte X58 support pages for BIOS, so that gives approximate age I would have built these.
2011.
Considering I can still play games on them (the Intel one) at 2560x1440 at medium/high/ultra settings on newly released games, that isn't bad. I have upgraded core components (upgraded RAM, new GPU, went from Intel 910 to 5670 and dual core 210e to quad 610e, updated Nvidia 1030 to get 2560x1440 100hz over HDMI ) Even so, with reasonbly priced upgrades still good PC's, with plenty of RAM, running Windows 10 happily (granted not full Intel/AMD chipset & drivers) £100 for 24GB gaming RAM, £50 for Intel 5670, £45 for 610E. That isn't bad.
That's why I like PC's over consoles, in that time I've had PS3 which already looked crap compared to the gaming PC, and several new generation of consoles. I believe the top end latest gen consoles outclass my PC's, but it's taken years to do that.
