Well ive been with aol for 10 years now and to be honest im getting bummed by them. I get 1 mg connection for 19.99pm, not too good eh but im 1.6miles from the exchange. I have just called them about the foc laptop offer they have, ok its a 24mth contract but its 19.99pm like im paying. Oh no, i have to pay 29.99pm aparently due to them not having a deal with my exchange?!? I have just called them to cancel my account and they will only offer me a 18mth contact the same as i have @19.99pm and 6mhplr. Time for my MAC code me thinks. SO the question is fellas: is this really the best im gonna get from aol? anyone have anything different. What else is good on a 12mth contract? Does anyone else do deals with foc gifts?....... rant over:D

Been with aol for 6 ish years I think, had to upgrade due to vista router etc, I get 2mb £14.99 pcm then £17.99 pcm IIRC (18 months in total)

I would suggest strongly to go with an enta reseller http://www.ispreview.co.uk/review/top10.php they are 4, 8 and 9 in the list.
1 month contracts and A********** CUSTOMER SERVICE

Due to high popularity Entanet resellers are getting slower, they are still fast just not as fast as they were say 6 Months ago. Its very hard to choose a new ISP these days due to Fair usage Policy's, Acceptable usage policy's, Port blocking, traffic shaping, hidden charges, Long contracts etc.

I would recommend an Entanet seller on the basis that theirs only a 1 month contract and they seem to be the best going at the moment because they dont lie to you about hidden charges, dont use fair usage/acceptable usage.

im going with UKOnline soon or ADSL24 i havn't made my mind up, but they are both good on Paper.

http://www.titan-adsl.co.uk/index-2.html - these seem to be getting top marks, im not really up to date on how Entanet get their pipelines but they maybe just as good as any reseller.

My UKFSN has been getting slower, about 250kbs on downloads at weekends and it takes until about 3:30 am before i hit max speeds during week days. It will sit at around 350k a sec and then as time goes by it goes back up to 750kbs, Enta were fantastic when I signed up and have been up until recently but as Sinny said it's getting slower. I phoned UKOnline earlier today for some pre sales questions, all the answers were to my satisfaction in regards to traffic shaping and port throttline etc, I'm going to give them a go now.

My father-in-law has been with them for 12 years. Tried to sign up for the laptop.

Was then sent a letter saying as he is not a new customer he wont be eligable for the laptop. His broadband has been down for 5 weeks.

Top company there. If i was you i would look elsewhere pronto. I suggest you get onto samknows and find which ISP's are available to you and get that mac code soon as.

On a side note, my father-in-law understandable wishes to leave but is worried about the emails and bookmarks he has built up and needs to keep. Does anyone know how he can do this?.
I take it normally he would loose all this, which as a minister he really needs to keep?.
I have suggested he pays monthly for dial-up so he can still keep his log in details but is there another way?.

That's terrible. There is another company doing a 'free' laptop broadband offer and its a better deal than AOL's [edit/add] and they extend this offer to existing customers]. But I can't say who cos I'd be pimping lol.

Ten years with aol. Who'd have thought.

I was with UKFSN but the speeds got slower and slower after midnight and on weekends so I moved to UK Online. I now get a 14ms ping to most uk servers and always get full speed when downloading (700kb/s) :D

I am with adsl24 and he has said to me a new segment is coming online soon with a new central due Feb so things are just going to get better.
