After my first visit to RAF Cottesmore (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17590604&highlight=harrier) with a 70-300 IS I decided to pop down again today with my new 100-400 L IS to see how it compares and also get some practice in for Goodwood.

Comments welcome!

EDIT: You may be wondering about the Lancaster picture. It did a low flypast Cottesmore for some reason! A most unexpected sight and I didn't hear it coming over my earplugs and the Harrier engines (hence the rubbish picture).
The Puma and Gazelle was a suprise as well!

Cheers! The Harrier is always great for heat haze although trying to take photos of it from behind on the runway is virtually impossible because of it.

Nice shots , might have to try Duxford this weekend.

Ps. The lancaster thumbnail isn't showing

Cheers, just fixed the thumbnail. Gallery seems to do that ever so often

They only fly in the weekdays as not to upset the locals too much. The best time is generally 9-10am as that is when they put the first Harriers up and will give you a good idea how busy the day will be. Sometimes they do night flying and they won't put anything up in the daytime although this is very rare.
