got a voucher for john lewis, so going to grab a headset soon.

Basically I want:

bluetooth
Doesn't make me look like a hipster plonker
bass + clarity (I'm quite sensitive to noise/hisses/squelching)
^ I only really listen to bass heavy electronic music/noise

So from the hiss aspect, I'm not going to bother looking at any with NC, which lowers the price a bit too.

I've narrowed it down to a couple of sony's that I like the look of:

650bt and the 950bt

Anyone got them? Anyone got any major qualms with either?

What else should I be looking at?
I tried a pair of AKG y50's and was a bit unimpressed in all fairness.

Yeah, found a pretty hefty thread earlier in my googlefu-ing. Got some nice mods can do to bring out the soundstage and tighten the bass a lot too.

As said, I'll be going to try it tonight so hopefully its decent and not too big! :)

I'll check them out WYN, cheers :)
^edit: not really wanting inner ears, my old bundled samsung innerears are pretty good, decent bass etc but they keep falling out. (And i've tried multiple different buds, even got some IEMs once. I have stupid ears) Would definitely prefer overear this time round I think!

One thing that is niggling me; would my phone (ill be using spotify most the time) not having aptx make a world of difference?

If so, i'll be looking at picking up a different phone later down the line. But from what I've read it doesn't make THAT much of a difference?

well I got them. The instore demo ones were a bit odd, not the BT ones (had no buttons) but they sounded good and fit better than the 650's on ear design.

Got them home and tried them out on my phone and pc (both bt) seems you can connect multiple devices to them :)

But geez, if you really crank them up the little vibration they give off is quite nice! Also a big plus is I'm not getting any hiss at all!
They are a bit chunky, but for the sound they give I can get over that!

On my pc, Battlefield1 sounds pretty damn good, much more immersive than my siberia 200's. Can't wait to try a film with them too :)T connection sometimes (only on pc & mac book pro) but a quick on/off fixed that (and it sorted itself out on my mbp).

Otherwise I am very happy with the purchase. a lot of tinkering to be done with various eq on devices, and a bit of time for burn in.
