100% CPU usage in CSS

I'v recently ran into a problem where in game CSS was very choppy/laggy, getting a spike every 2-3 seconds..

Iv tried reinstalling, updating drivers etc.. Nothing worked, however when I saw my CPU usage after the game I noticed what the problem was:

Both cores running at 100% constant while in-game. (The little drops are when I was minimizing)

If anyone could help me, I would be very grateful.

P.S Temps are fine running at 40 during game

My setup:

AMD Athlon II X2 255 @ 3.1Ghz
HD 5850
4Gb Ram

Tried turning the multicore rendering on/off in options? D:

The Source Engine is extremely CPU intensive.

That would explain why its only just started happening?? :confused:

But you don't know it wasn't using 100% like that before? So could be something else causing it

This +1. High CPU usage isn't remotely unusual in games.

Alright, any ideas what else it could be cauing the fps spikes?

valves latest cs:s updates? valve like to brake things

ive dropped from 500ish average fps to around 300 overnight + ping spikes all over..

id rather valve fixed cs:s than brought out this new cs:go or w/e
