I have £100 to spend on a new AMD PCI-E 939 Mobo. Which one should i go for and why? I am open to ideas but it must have a passive Chipset cooler. Ta

That's what i said, need to be passive.

Are these any good:

Gigabyte K8N Pro SLi nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-038-GI)

Abit KN8 SLi nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-088-AB)

The KN8 looks good. I have the board that came before it and its been fine for me.

The Gigabyte NF4 boards, with the passive heatsinks, ive heard, overheat because of the position of the heatsink in relation to where the video card will be sitting.

You're basing the motherboard choice on its chipset cooling? I'd get the DFI and either swap it with a Zalman or just unplug its chipset fan.

Decided to get the Asus A8N SLI Premium Motherboard. Do i have to connect up the MOLEX connector on the motherboard by the PCI-e slot?

That's not passive though? A8N-SLI Premium and A32 SLI Deluxe are.

Just take the actve cooler off and buy a Zalman passive cooler, have one on an epox board, only cost 5 or 6 quid if I remember rightly,it provides adequate enough cooling for stock or overclocked frequencies.

Are you mad?
A Zalman would prevent a video card being inserted, and unplugging the fan would cause the NB to overheat and possibly cause damage.

What about the:

ABIT AX8
Good board.

If i remember right you only have to connect the molex by the pci-e slot if you are running 2 gfx cards,it does say in the manual though.

Try and get a DFI Lanparty, i got one from OCUK that was classed as B-Grade but when it came it was just OEM.
Bargain price aswell :D
