I am looking for budget monitor. It will be used mainly for "office" purposes- viewing web pages, reading pdfs, writing and so on. No games or movies. Yet I care for good display quality.
At the moment I wonder about Dell 2209WA refurbished/used with warranty. Are there any other/cheaper alternatives worth looking at? Or maybe it's better to buy new one in this price range?

Thanks for any help

Hi there and welcome to the OCUK forums :)

If you can find a used/refurbished Dell 2209WA for around that budget then absolutely go for it (I picked up one for £110 a month or so ago), you probably won't find a better display for the money (considering its E-IPS panel and 16:10 aspect ratio).

As for what you can buy new, this is a pretty decent deal and slightly higher res at 1920x1080 - though the panel is only a 16:9 21.5in - so not as big as a 2209WA and the panel is only TN, not E-IPS.

If you are willing to increase your budget a bit for a new, good value IPS monitor, then this and this are worth a look. Here an in-depth review of the 23in.

Thanks for warm welcome and decent post.

I am tight on budget. Maybe I'll be lucky to get 2209WA from ebay. Yet, I think that I don't realy need IPS for my purposes.
Are there any cheaper used/refurbished worth looking at monitors?
Is there any new 16:10 monitor for around 100Ł?

I went on a little research around possible options. I have found these:
£90 22" 16:10 HannsG HA222DPB with nice review here
£100 21.5" 16:9 BenQ-G2222HDL and previously mentioned Dell St2220M
£110 23" 16:9 HannsG-HL231DPB

any more advices?

My advice would be to not link to competitors of OcUK as it's against the forum rules.

I suggest you edit your post to link to the same products at OcUK or to the manufacturer's website.
