Hi, I need some advice.

My Gainward Bliss 7950GT PCX has died on my Core 2 Duo 6400/Asus P5N-E SLI system and I need a good replacement in the sub-£100/£100 range. I could possibly pay a little more. I play a fair number of games so I need a card which can handle the workload, for example to play COD4.

I'd appreciate greatly any suggestions.

Thanks very much,

Dave

I'm guessing that the ATi RADEON 5770 is probably what you'd be looking for. Great card for the price and of course is DX 11 capable. If you're not bothered about DX11 then you could save a bit and get a ATi RADEON 4850, although it is an older generation of card which is slightly slower and uses more power.

Thanks to everyone who posted.

After the advice I read my first choice was a HD 5770.

However the Asus forums were overflowing with complaints and problems with my motherboard the P5N-E SLI and the HD 5*** series.

So in the end I played it safe and picked my second choice a GTS 250. So far so good.

Thanks all,

David
