Hi all

I'm running an E7200 @ stock at the moment, in a GA-P35-DS3L. The machine's great but I'd like to run GTA4 more smoothly (i hear that cores are the main issue with it). I'm running a 4850 alongside.

I was looking to spend about £100. I thought the Q8400 might be a reasonable upgrade. What do you think? Is it worth OCing the E7200 first?

ANy thoughts much appreciated :)

I wouldn't bother for £100.

You could spend it on better cooling to OC, but apart from that i would save the pennies.

EDIT: Looking at your sig - More Ram (if 64 bit), decent CPU cooler, and bigger HDD (if needed)

3.6GHz should be an easy overclock for that processor, with the right cooling, and will yield a decent performance boost.
