ive been thinking about buying some sennheiser HD595s at the end of the week, i know that these are VERY comfy headphones (i previously had some 515s)

but as with all my purchases im looking for some last minute advise on what else there is in the market

any other good headphones (over ear rather than on ear ones) that anyone can recommend? or would you say HD595s are a good buy for £100?

I think that the HD580 sound better than the HD595.

Or you could look at Senn alternative for different sound: AKG K501 (wider soundstage than the Senns including the HD600/650), though pretty bass light, the BeyerDynamic line (DT880/990; note two series can be found: the older DT990 can be found for around £100, whereas the newer ones cost over £150.. the older ones are far better value).

Ive had the HD595s they are very popular and sound excellent, very comfy for long hours also.

Only bad thing is the leak sound, so whatever u listen to everyone in the room can hear it....

I dunno about the HD580s but ive heard some liked those better, and many upgraded to the HD595s and enjoyed those better... headfi forums maybe usefull for you.

Yickes. No non custom IEMs I've tried compares to full sized cans IMO.

I do prefer the DT990 to the DT770, more balanced. Still, if you do want a a bass heavy closed cans, then it is an option to contrast with the Senns.

I would've suggested the Grado/Alessandro, but it is not over the ear not exactly confy... But it would make a fantastic contrast with your Senns (and maybe a Grado convert ;)).

Even more shocking is the fact Ocuk dont stock the HD-595s.....

By the fact that we almost have a "suggest me a pair of headphones" thread every week now I'm surprised they don't stock a better selection of headphones compared to their soundcard range.
