A mate's computer blew up last night. He needs a replacement.

He is only looking for the PC, no peripherals.

i7 if possible, as much fast RAM as possible and an Geforce GFX. On board sound is fine.

Up the RAM to 16gb, up the gfx card to what your needs are, only downside is operating system may push you a bit past the budget

I would assume he doesn't need an o/s since he had a previous computer £1100 would get you a pre built i7 skylake system with a 970 if you shop around rather than an older haswell. Obviously if you can build yourself it would also save a few quid.
