Thank man!
I dont think ill OC. Seems too complicated and i dont really get the point of buying strong cooling system in order to OC the GPU/CPU/RAM if you can just buy new one for the same money :P..so lets say no for now.

and is the i7 actually worth the money deference? this PC is for games only(!)
thanks!

edit: by what I've been told, 2 channels of RAM on the motherboard are not as significance as they were before. so wouldnt it be better to just get 1 ram of 8 gig and save more space for later?

you really do want to over clock, its not difficult and there are plenty of people here who can take you through the process step by step, heck you can buy pre over clocked bundles from over clockers :)

its akin to remapping cars, if you do it properly following tried and proven methods and sticking within certain limits and making sure you use the right components in your build you can push some fantastic performance for your buck

I see...so how much it will cost me to build OC machine ? and how cost effective would it be?

See my builds above :)

Overclocking will give you a free performance boost, you don't have to go bonkers! :D

Personal view is I prefer dual channel and 8gb is fine for PC gaming, you can always add another set to upgrade to 16gb.

Your budget allows for a i7 and hopefully more games will take a advantage of this :)

So this build is good enough for OC ?(!) Im bit surprised because the cooling you mentioned there are average (correct me if im wrong).

also about your last sentence; my friend believe that more and more games will support 8 core and so he choose to go with the FX 8350 with is also a very good CPU for OC. would like to know what do you think about that?

Don't forget the i7 4770k is 4 cores with 4 hyperthreading cores (8 threads in total).

The i7 beats the AMD for performance in majority of tests and is clocked 500mhz slower.

The cooler specced is fine for the i7, I use the Gelid CPU cooler on my i7 which is clocked at 4.2ghz and this has temps of 70c at full load.

Rough Performance summery:

with a build like that..would it still be necessary to OC in order to run today games on high-ultra? or its only something to consider in 2 years time?

btw can you recommend on a wireless keyboard, mouse and headset for 150-200£?
