Right, first off im rather unexperienced in this whole thing, building a PC,overclocking and also these forums are all new to me,but im gunna give it a go over the summer as im sick of not really knowing whats going on with my computer.
I've spent a few days trying to spec a half decent rig,but as i knew next to nothing before this im pretty sure its gunna get ripped to shreds by you guys, which is all good as it will surely leave me with a better computer when all is done. Im building this in about two weeks and my budget is about 1300,although id like to keep it as close to 1000 as possible!!

Last thing!Ill be using a Toshiba 32wlt66 with this, at least to begin with, which apparently has a native res. of 1366x768,does this sound right for an HD tele?and will the graphics card be powerfull enough for this?

thanks for the suggestions

I had been thinking about the Tuniq Tower as a cooler but couldnt find it on OcUK,what would you suggest between this and the ninja?

The motherboard was probably the part i spent longest trying to find, but i seemed to be more confused the more i looked,so any suggestions on that are definately welcome! :) although i had thought about one which supports DDR3 ram

Cases were similar to the motherboard,I intended to get a P182 first of all as it has 3 fans, which sounded usefull, but im not sure whether theres much difference between 2 and 3 fans. Also there seems to be a few problems with the PSU being at the bottom of the case.

Last of all,is it worth it paying an extra £40 for the 640mb GTS rather than the 320mb?it seemed like a small increase in price(relitavely).

the noctua sounds good,it also means i can order everything at the same time and from the same place, which is nice!

which HDD would you suggest between the samsung in my first spec and the western digital which has also been mentioned?I think,at the minute, that i would be buying two, would you suggest a RAID0 connection for this?

Is a quad core processor worth the extra £140,or is it worth waiting about 6 months untill the prices have dropped, and then maybe getting a new processor as part of a small upgrade?

Thanks for the suggestions for motherboard, case, power supply, cooler and graphics card, ive changed my spec to include these! :D

i probably will be upgrading within the next year, even if its just a processor and maybe a new monitor with a decent resolution and/or a graphics card. So the e6600 would be my best option?

Raid0 sounds like a bit of a risk, especially since its my first build!!
would i be better off just buying one drive,or would two still be my best option, and maybe installing my OS on one of them and using the other for storage?

i think what ill do is buy the two AAKS drives and initially set them up with one just as a storage drive, then if i get a bit more confident i could backup the data i need and try setting them up in RAID0.

Thanks for all the help btw!keep it coming!! ;)

ok,once again, thanks for all the help guys!

my second attempt is below,i know its not perfect so any suggestions would be much appreciated!! :)

i cant seem to find any reviews of the AAKS HDDs ive got in there,do these come recommended?

also, which OS would you suggest running this on?is it worth upgrading to vista?

the tuniq tower is now available again(and also one with a nice blue LED!),would anyone suggest this instead of the noctua,or is there not much difference?

Other than this i think im pretty much done, unless anyone has any other suggestions?

Slight change of plan,i now plan to buy a 22" monitor at some point over summer, probably with a 1680x1050 Resolution, will a GTX make a difference at this resolution?

I plan to use my 32" toshiba as a secondary display, but the new monitor for gaming etc as it has a higer res. on a smaller screen.

Anyone have any suggestions for which monitor to buy,or does anyone have any reasons why this would not be worth it and is in fact a stupid idea?
