i recently put together a spec for just under 1K see my thread a couple down "i7 eta" one :)
Put it together over this weekend and have to say i'm very pleased with the performance vista is so quick now.

There is no need for watercooling and it wouldnt fit in your budget, nowadays air cooling is just as good as water until you get to the top end of water cooling which is gonna set you back £200 alone. The Nvidia cards arent quite as good value for money as ATI, and you cant add another later with NVidia, I specced the ATI cos you could always add another next year if the system needed it - If you do insist on NVidia sub in a 260. Similaraly AMD processor is either cheaper and not as good or more expensive, this E8500 is your best bang for buck performance at moment, also I have little experience with AMD so no I cant spec you an AMD system
Edit: As a note if you already know what you want you should specify in your post so we dont waste our time trying to help you

ok sorry for being a burden.

CPU:AMD
GPU:nvida
Cooling:water
Monitor: 1920x1080

dont mind about anythign else.

oh yeah, one SSD for OS, and one normal storage.

Forget the SSD drive and watercooling for a £1000 build otherwise you have to skimp on the cpu and graphics card which would make the build pointless.

No chance of getting a decent full system with a 1920 monitor, water cooling and SSD for 1k!

Personally would go for an intel CPU (but each to their own) and air cooling such as a TRUE 120 or Tuniq Tower will be more then enough.;)

You will just be wasting your money there as other areas will have to suffer just not possiable with that budget. +1 for something like the spec posted above. Look at shaffaaf2 Full System £1000 very nice spec.

I'd recommened you save a little longer and wait for i7s to mature a little (P55 boards for example) personally, but if you desperately want a system now then 95thrifle's system looks good.

Whats wrong with Intel if you dont mind me asking? Its a little like turning down champagne because you like the taste of Skol :D
