£1000 First ever build, from scratch!

Hi everybody,

I am totally new to the world of building PCs, but will have a friend with me who has done it before when I am looking to build. I have the money so I am just waiting on a parts list and I was wondering if you guys could help me!

I have a £1000 budget but would like to stay as far below this as possible whilst still keeping some good performance. I will need everything except peripherals and I am looking to do quite a lot of gaming on this machine so graphical performance would be the main aim of this rig! I will not need an HDD immediately so would look to get a 250GB SSD perhaps the Samsung 840 one.

Any help that you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Stuck in the 1TB drive as it's on offer at a great price. You could use the MSI 7950 for £240 but the 670 is still very nice and also gives you PhysX support for the games that do use it
 
Currently that was what I was looking at, thinking about swapping the case out for a Corsair 600T, any changes you would make to that?
