£1000 HDTV Advice Please

Hi all,

Parents are after a new HDTV. Would you guys be able to recommend one ?

Here is their preferences:
-Both LCD and Plasma are an option.
-Looking for 37" (42 is too big)
-£1000 absolute max. (Got to buy a Stand and Speaker kit aswell you see)
-They view SD material, but will be getting SKY HD and HD DVD Player sometime next year. (HDMI connections ? )

Now we have been to local retail stores to look around, and we all really liked the Samsung Bordeaux PS42Q7HD 42" . (EDIT, 42 is toooo big for the room)

Is this the best we can do for this budget ?

Sharp 37" XD1 £999 or 42" XD1 £1100?
Both true HD spec, 1080p screens.

Ok Excellent.

Even better as i have just measured up for them and they would not be able to accomodate a 42" screen anyway.

The stand they are going to buy is 86cm wide, which is spot on, and this stand only fits upto 37" TV.
