£1000 laptop for gaming and coding

Hi All,

I'm off to Australia in October and wanting a laptop to take with me.

I need to be able to play some games like BF3, Total war series (bring on Rome 2) and D3 but I also want to do some HTML/CSS and PHP whilst I'm there on it.

Is there anything suited in this price range you can recommend?

I'm looking at a alienware m17x r4 refurb at the moment and not a clue what to compare them too.

you can apparently get an m4 with 7970 refurb for a grand mate, and there is nothing to compare them to in that price range. 7970 smashes previous gen cards for performance so as you are wanting to play bf3 i would defo say they are your best bet.
