Hi Guys,
Recently I got enough money to do a £1000 PC build, but I don't have a lot of knowledge about what PC components work well together. Here's a list of what I've already come up with (I'll buy peripherals seperately):
CPU: i5 4690k @4.6 GHz
RAM: 8Gb of 1600MHz RAM from corsair
Motherboard: Asus VII Ranger
GPU: AMD R9 290
PSU: Silverstone ST70F-ESB Strider Essential 700W Power Supply
Case: Any recommendations
Monitor: iiyama prolite e2278hsd
SSD:240Gb corsair
HDD: 750Gb
Anything I forgot?
Any comments are welcome!
Thanks.

Only real negative on that is the stock cooler, but that can be upgraded later.

Nice spec. :)

No stock SSD though. :(

Thanks for the recommendations.
I found an overclocked bundle for the i5 on some website, looks like I can get more than I thought from my budget. Is a 24" screen best fro gaming?

24" is probably a common size, but its the resolution which matters more, 1920X1080 is the most used and common.

1080 on 22" screen looks ok, but the same resolution on a 27" screen and the pixels some people say can start to look a bit "blocky"

The bundle I found has the i5 at 4.6 GHz, how much faster will it be than the stock model?

I decent increase in CPU intensive stuff, but not much in games. However you can do it yourself for free, overclocking is super simple these days, so unless the bundle saves you money its not really worth it.

Ok thanks for the advice! I think the builds all look good I'll look into getting the parts by the end of this month! Thanks.
