Hi all,

So my good old q6600 system has finally said goodbye today. So I am in need of a system for around £1000 that I can upgrade ones the credit card is paid off. It's only for gaming 1080p I do have 2 monitors but only game on one. Games mainly play:
Euro truck sim 2
Farming sim
Project cars gta
And a few others but only at 1080p
Need something cool and quiet.

Not sure if my Samsung ssd is still working for my old system.

If this system keeps for a little while I will either upgrade it or even just replace once Iv saved up etc.

I felt a little upset when it died mainly because it's lasted for nearly 8 years and been a great system.

Nice spec. How is the r9390 Iv always used nvidia

Can't go much wrong with a GTX970 either. It's quieter and cooler and more efficicent. It's got less RAM, and there's some chatter about NVIDIA async-compute / multi-engine support.

Frankly, it's nothing to worry about right now, it may mean the AMD cards will have more potential for later, but then again with AMD, it also depend if the developers will take advantage of it or not (Oculus Rift may take good advantage of that, with their asynchronous timewarp shaders and custom frame sync, plus the huge VRAM available).

If you are thinking of Oculus Rift gaming, the AMD stuff maybe worth a closer look.

Agree completely. The only reason I chose the AMD card was to keep it within budget. In real terms there's very little to choose from between the 2 cards right now.
