£1000, spec me a system please!

Hi all,

Well my current machine was bought in parts from ocuk all the way back in 2003. As I've got a PC repairs business up and running and nice and legit it's time to make this one a workbench PC and bring something new in! I've fallen behind on what's hot and what's and it's been quite hard to keep up to date with all the best hardware etc. so I need some friendly help. £950, I need some help in choosing a new rig - except a monitor, mouse and keyboard, think I can decide on that for myself.

Bear in mind I'm a gamer and haven't seen Crysis in the flesh yet - that would be nice! So 950 smackers basically being a gaming rig.. and I'll need Vista as well (yes I know but it's for the business)!

hello, er good question. I haven't really thought about that. Depends on the size of the monitor I guess so I would say that in the near future I'll either be going for a 22 or 24 ws. The only thing putting me off is the response times. I don't like gaming with a delay.

Hello smr, how's the following specification for you:

The XFX Geforce 8800 GTX is currently at superb price and will be perfect for a resolution of 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 should you go for either a 22inch or a 24inch monitor.

I should have also asked if you are looking to overclock this particular system - If you are then I have included the an aftermart CPU cooler which you would most certainly need if you are going to overclock. If you won't be overclocking this system just post saying you won't be and I'll modify the specification for you. Sorry, I should have asked weather you will be overclock or not the first time I posted.
