Sold my 2 month old machine and now ive got a higher budget of £ 1000 -+ tops i can do is 1.2k but prefer 1k.This machine will be used for everything, gamming, work, uni, etc, etc and for long term (3 years min) so i was something that will allow me to play games, multi task without any problems and on full settings. i will also use 2 monitors.

I already have the following: 8gb of ram 1600mhz, windows 7

What i would like:
CPU: No preference AMD/Intel
GPU: No preference AMD/Intel
HDD: min 1gb HDD / bonus if 2 HDD or 1 SSD + HDD
RAM: Min 8GB, has i said before i alerady have 8, if u thin 16 is a must have add another 8.
Monitor: Prefer 24 inch / bonus HDMI input
Case: Cool looking with seethru panel
Motherboard: Asus motherboard
keyboard + Mouse: Must have preferably gaming ones.
Cooling: Bonus if loads of fans with lighting, decent cooler for cpu and gpu
Optical drive: basic one.
Network: Wireless must have

Nice but OP asked for a case with a window and Asus motherboard.

The 300R I used has a window fella. Nothing wrong with Gigabyte mobos as you well know :)

I notice you have gone with an Asus ATX sized mobo in the Corsair 350D.....it's mATX which is why I avoided it. Snips has made the same mistake ;)

Ha ha!!!!!!

Changed, Indeed nothing wrong with the Gigabyte, not sure why I did that!!!!!!

Excitement of my new car arriving tomorrow! :D

Thats true, were here to help and each other :p

Mondeo Estate :)

Indeed! I look forward to seeing what he settles on :)

I'd have gone with the Mazda 6 myself. Ford bought into Mazda ages back to sort their reliability out. Not that the Mondeo is bad....just saying ;)

Same here, I am Gigabyte person :)

No worries, I am site engineer (contractor) at the Ford Dunton Technical centre in Essex.

I see all the Vehicle and engine testing :)

So you've nicked it then when nobody was looking? lol

To get back on topic. I did use a Modular PSU, although I did consider the 630W as it would probably be a bit more efficient but 530W will suffice. SSD will be faster as it's larger. I left out the RAM as he has 8GB but he should say what he has, if it's really tall the better cooler that comes with the mobo might not fit :(

is the SSD worth the price tag? just thinking if the money could be used elsewhere and i would be pretty happy with a 1gb HDD. personally i dont think the improved loading times is worth the price?

and whats a better GPU between NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB 16X and 7950?

is there a difference in terms of performance, overclocking or whats the actual difference between a Micro-ATX and atx?

Not a lot really both overclock just as good but ATX offers more expansion slots and if running dual cards usually offer better spacing.

the nvidia gtx 660 ti seems to be a lot better than amd 7950 so why does everyone recommed it if the 660ti is cheaper?

The scores are mixed with Nvidia winning some and AMD gains in others.

The cheapest 660 TI on overclockers is £215 and the cheapest AMD is £217.
