£1000 system upgrade

Hey guys tomorrow morning i will be upgrading my system that is spec listed below.

Core i5 4690K overclocked to 4.6Ghz stable 24/7
Gtx 970 Strix
8GB 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 Corsair ram
256GB samsung ssd
1TB storage HDD
850W Be Quiet Power Zone Power Supply Unit

I am mainly thinking of adding a second GPU and getting a ROG swift.

Would you agree with this upgrade or would something else be recommended?

I have been waiting a while to get these now and want to be sure that i can't get a better gaming experience for my money.

I play a lot of Arma 3, The crew, Civilization games, Tomb raider, Dying light and the majority of titles that come out on pc. I love all genres really. (

EDIT : I currently play at 1080p 60hz

Thanks Stulid i did spec my system with intention for gpu expansion. I take it my PSU is more than capable with the cards

hmmm i've got 2 680s 2Gb and really would like a new monitor like the ROG or the new IPS one Acer XB270HU - dont think my 680s are up to it - would be up for some new 980s but its pricey and im not sure my 4.2ghz i7 3770k would be too happy with the extra workload - what do you think?

And i have just hit a stone in the road :L

I pulled up my motherboard box ( that i was sure guarded my sli bridge ) to find that there was no sli bridge in there.

Instantly i went on the panic search! And in my pile of collected stuff over the years i found a 3 way hard sli bridge from a 1366 G1 Assassin board. Now if the spacing on this is the same as on my Gigabyte gaming 5 will the 3 way bridge work for two cards or will it not pick them up?

Just plugged it into the one card to see if i can eyeball it.

Don't think it will fit

Seems to be a few mills out on the middle and bottom 16x slot. Could be the way im looking at it but yea i think il be running one card for a while D:!

Ps sorry for the measuring tool its all i had at hand that was flat and solid

EDIT : Also the bridge wans't from the g1 assassin i don't think. It was from a rampage v extreme black edition now that i think about it

The bottom slot on that board is 4X so not SLI certified, needs to be the middle one for 8X/8X.

You can ask in the members market if someone will send you a bendy one
