Hi guys,

I want to upgrade my machines ability to play games on max detail.

It struggles acheiving this on the latest GTA game and Star wars battlefront.

On battlefront I have everything on ultra and the resolution scale on 150.

I want to play it on 200 as it looks almost photo realistic on this setting.

What is the best way to achieve this looking at my current set up as indicated in my sig?

Also would it pay to wait for the next gen GPU's and if so which one?

Thanks

Marv

2 x 980ti (SLI) is the way to go for what you are asking, but the main question really is what resolution & refresh rate is your monitor ?

Next gen will be the small Pascal and honestly don't think they are worth the wait and we will get that usual small bump in performace. The next one to maybe consider is the full fat Pascal and that may not come out till 2017 and we don't really know what the performance will be for gaming, they are just throwing around high numbers for compute at the moment, which means nothing for games in general.

Good info thanks.

In answer to your question I am running my games on a 60Hz 1920 x 1080 screen.

whoa whoa whoa, don't get 980Ti SLI for 1080 60hz screen!

Get a single 980Ti and get a 1440p monitor at least. You really do not need £1000 worth of GPU for a 1080 screen!

Hell you can get 980 SLI and still have a 1400p monitor which is a beefy setup.

That what I got 1440p 980 sli easy get 90+fps in bf4 with 125% scaling

i would also say 1440p (27 inch is ideal) and a 980ti single should let you max most games out easily.

I just retired my 7990 for a 390 but i'm waiting out for the new Nvidia cards first half of 2016. 980ti seems like a bit of a waste right now imo

Hmm higher rez monitor never occurred to me
Do some more research on this stuff before plopping down £1000+ man.

Also 'max' settings are overrated. Dont be worried about turning down some settings here and there. Some of the most demanding/performance-killing ones hardly make any difference at all.
