Hey there,

I am going to purchase the components for a new PC at the end of this coming week. I have £1000 to spend on a PC that will be used for online gaming. I probably won't be overclocking but it would be nice to have the option available.

My old PC will be passed on to a friend so I need everything including Operating System, Case, Monitor, Keyboard and mouse etc.

The only specific requests I have is for the PC to be almost silent. The budget is quite tight but I can go a few pounds either way. Please could anybody help me out with a Spec? :D

I have left out a keyboard and mouse as thats very much personal prefrence... as is the case really (just mix and match what you fancy really). Ive included a third party cooler for the graphics card as I think the stock one is supposed to be fairly noisey.

I don't think I've missed anything out although it feels like I have done .

By no means am i suggesting you buy everything ive recommended either, just gives you a starting template to work from ;), im sure others will chime in with a few ideas too :D

Forgot to mention, the total price also includes the delivery.

this should work, might need to tweak it abit + for overclocking you would wanna buy a GPU + CPU cooler and AS5, but that would be like extra 70 or so

edit: also you should pick a monitor you want, + operating system if you want a 19inch or 24, huge price diff, means more to spend on other components

Thanks for the help so far. I was inclined as to getting a 22" monitor or there abouts. 19" would be a little small these days.

well the 1 i suggested has same resolution as the 22 just 2 inch smaller, and also, a 19 would be better for the gaming, ie more to spend on components, lower resolution

But at £1000 budget, no point getting a 19".

Could be worth looking at my thread - my budget is around the same as you..should be able to find it on the second page.
